Measures and calculations

• Flights: Count of completed flights
• Load factor %: Passengers divided by seats available
• On-time %: Completed flights arriving within 15 minutes of schedule
• Fuel per passenger: Fuel burned divided by passengers

Data model and required fields

• fact_flight[date_key] (Integer): Flight date as yyyymmdd
• fact_flight[route_id] (Integer): Route key
• fact_flight[aircraft_id] (Integer): Aircraft key
• fact_flight[arr_delay_min] (Integer): Minutes late on arrival
• fact_flight[seats_available] (Integer): Seats offered
• fact_flight[passengers] (Integer): Passengers carried
• fact_flight[revenue_usd] (Decimal): Ticket revenue
• fact_flight[fuel_kg] (Integer): Fuel burned

Compatibility and prerequisites

- Power BI Desktop (current release recommended). The report uses standard visuals only, so no custom visuals need to be installed. - Works with Import mode. DirectQuery is possible for most sources but is not tested. - Publishing and sharing needs a Power BI Pro or Premium Per User licence for you and your viewers, or a Premium capacity. - Built on the same star schema as our free airline sample dataset, so you can try it with that data first.
